48 Lake Street is owned and run by Escape This, the company that runs Escape This Northbridge and every one of its siblings. Escape This is Australia’s largest escape room operator, and runs its own escape room design studio and escape room factory in Australia. It has venues in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne, has hosted more than 500,000 players and has earned 17,960 five-star reviews.
We gave our first venue a voice because it has been there longer than any of us, it has watched every room arrive and leave, and it clearly has opinions about its siblings.
What’s real and what isn’t
Real: the dates rooms opened and closed, when each sibling venue’s first rooms appeared, the Visit page and anything marked “On the record”. These come from Escape This’s booking system and pages.
Made up: the building’s voice and feelings, the sibling rivalry, the Basement’s letters, the Night Owl, and anything marked “Legend has it”, including every story about what the building was before. No real people, owners or past businesses appear.
